author bio
- Garcia has a BA in English and Arts & Letters, and a minor in Anthropology from Portland State University (PSU). She is about to complete her MA in Book Publishing, also from PSU. While attending PSU, Garcia worked at the Vanguard student newspaper, first as a graphic artist and later as a news writer. She also was the program coordinator for the Popular Music Board, a peer mentor, and the marketing lead for the nation’s premier student-run publishing house, Ooligan Press. Garcia perfected her funeral director impersonation when working as a graphic designer and obituary writer for the Salem Statesman Journal. Contrary to popular belief, garcia does not hate everything; though the world of minivans, NASCAR, wiener dogs, and Southern Comfort still eludes her, garcia is a huge fan of such things as ducks taking off from a pond, drag queens/kings, robots, zombies, the F word, Neil Diamond, and of course, her overweight chow chow named Foxy Brown.
